What is Lyra?

Lyra is a cross-border business remittance platform offered in Canada by Remitware Payments Canada Inc.(RPCI). RPCI is a FINTRAC-registered money service business (MSB).

What are the ways in which money can be received by my recipient?

Currently, money can be received by recipients in their bank accounts in destination countries.

Who can send International Payments through Lyra?

Businesses in Canada can register on Lyra Web application to avail this facility.

How do I register a Business on Lyra?

Authorized persons in any Business based in Canada can register by providing basic information on self and the business they represent.

What is Provisional Registration?

Businesses can register provisionally and start doing transactions immediately and experience the power of Lyra Platform. Authorized official / mandatory of RPCI would visit your location to collect required ID/KYC documents. Once all ID/KYC documents are completed and accepted by RPCI, your provisional registration is converted to Full Registration.

How do I identify RPCI Mandatory?

Remitr’s Mandatary would always visit your location after fixing up an appointment with you and will always carry an authorization letter from RPCI for visiting and collection of documents from you.

How does Lyra ensure that the Service is Safe?

In order to keep the Lyra Safe & Secure from scamsters, every registration is put through a Watch List Check and soft credit file checks are done on the authorized persons’ profile. This results in ensuring that only genuine people can use the service.

Does Credit File checks on my Profile affect my Credit Score?

No. the credit file checks that we undertake are soft checks in nature, only for identity verification purpose and hence does not affect your credit score in any way.

What kinds of payments can be sent through the Lyra Web app?

The Lyra web app currently accepts payments for practically all commercial purposes, details of which can be had once you complete your registration on Lyra

Can I pay in Cash for Payments through Lyra?

Unfortunately, No.

Will my recipient have to pay any fees?

While we do not charge the recipient any fees for receiving money, any intermediary financial institution or the recipient’s financial institution may levy additional fees or service charges.

What do I need to send money overseas?

Almost nothing more than what you already have, i.e.,

  • A local bank account in Canada
  • Sufficient funds to send money
  • Registration on Lyra Platform
  • The recipient’s bank details
  • Billing and other Documentation regarding the payment, if asked for
How do I use this service?
  • Click on the Business Payment / Lyra link on www.remitr.ca
  • Sign up and provide your basic details of the business, as well as yourself
  • Register your beneficiary
  • Check rates and provide the amount to be transferred
  • Enter Beneficiary and Transaction details on the web portal or integrate your Account Payables systems with our API
Can I use API to provide transaction details?

Lyra provides simple API for inputting a transaction directly from your current system. The API is so simple that we can integrate with your systems without much effort.

Can I settle multiple transaction at a time on Lyra?

Yes. Transactions can be settled on Lyra either singly or on a batch basis as may be convenient to you.

Do I have to send money during banking hours in my recipient’s country?

No. You can transfer money any time of the day or night, regardless of what time it is in your recipient’s country.

In what currency will my recipient receive the funds.

Typically, your recipient will receive the funds in local currency.

I send money to one recipient regularly. Will I have to re-enter his or her information every time.

No. Your recipient’s information, will be remembered by the Lyra Platform whenever you send money next.

I have put in a transaction. What happens next?

Immediately after you put in transactions, they are available for settlement on Lyra. They can be settled singly or in batches. A Payment Information Advice (PIA) is generated on your email giving all the details. Follow the instructions carefully to make Payment, locally in CAD to Remitware Payments Canada Inc. through the payment options we have made available to you.

Why do you need the recipient’s mobile phone number and email address?

We use the recipient’s mobile number and email address to be able to contact them in case there is any unforeseen delay in the transfer or if required for regulatory purpose in his/her country.

What if I need to cancel a transaction?

Once the funds have arrived in the receiver’s account, the sender cannot reverse the money transfer.

What is Remitr?

What are the ways in which money can be received by my recipient?

Money can be received in your recipient’s bank accounts.

Who can send International Payments through Remitr?

Businesses in Canada can register on Lyra Web application to avail this facility.

What kind of remittances can be sent through Remitr mobile app?

The Remitr app currently accepts remittances for family expenses, home remittances or for sending money to your own account back home. You don’t need to fall back on expensive bank transfers or run up large costs on using your card for foreign currency payments when you have Remitr.

Can I pay in Cash for Remittances through Remitr?

Unfortunately, No.

While we do not charge the recipient any fees for receiving money, any intermediary financial institution or the recipient’s financial institution may levy additional fees or service charges. In the rare event that the recipient is likely to incur such charges, Remitr app will indicate this clearly.

Do I have to send money during banking hours in my recipient’s country?

No. You can transfer money any time of the day or night, regardless of what time it is in your recipient’s country.

Will the money I send using Remitr arrive safely?

Yes, money you send using this service will arrive safely, provided that you have correctly entered the sending instructions. Remitr is a FINTRAC-registered Money Service Business (MSB) and your money is always safe both in Canada before transmission and in the recipient country.

In what currency will my recipient receive the funds.

Typically, your recipient will receive the funds in the local currency in his/her country.

I have sent money. What happens next?

Immediately after you press “Confirm”, you would get a Payment Information Advice (PIA) on your phone depending on the payment method chosen, and on your email. Follow the instructions on the Payment Advice for the exact process of making payment of funds to Remitr.

Why do you need the recipient’s mobile phone number and email address?

We use the recipient’s mobile number and email address to be able to contact them in case there is any unforeseen delay in the transfer or if required for regulatory purpose in his/her country.

Where do I enter my promo/discount code?

From time-to-time, Remitr issues special promotional offers that give customers a discount on their money transfer fee. If you have a promotional code, you can enter it when you register on the Remitr app for the first time.

What if I need to cancel a transaction?

Once the funds have arrived in the receiver’s account, the sender cannot reverse the money transfer. If the receiver somehow does not receive the money, the amount is returned to the sender’s account within 15 days.

What happens if I lose my phone?

Your account is protected by a Personal Identification Number (PIN) and therefore difficult for someone else to access your account without these details. Wrong PIN inputs would automatically block the account. If you would like to temporarily block your account, please contact care@remitr.ca.

I have a new phone. How do get my Remitr profile back?

You can re-instate your account on your new device or even if you are re-installing Remitr on your existing device. You only have to ensure you are registering with the same mobile number that you registered with earlier. Then follow the security questions you would be asked in order to get instant access to your existing profile.
